Twenty Ten

I’m going into 2010 here with new ideas and a new outlook on life in general. I honestly feel like we are living in the future now. Lol. I know that doesn’t seem like it makes a lot of sense, but to me it does.

What’s different going forward? Well for one I’m into making money now. I don’t mean just going to work every day like I have been. I mean starting my own business and investing, diversifying and so on.

I’m also learning about my conservative streak. I’ll be 31 this year. Well in a month actually. Up to this point I’ve been fairly responsible. But also very liberal with my spending. Now it’s time I actually spread my wings. I’m tired of working with a fixed income (salary) that isn’t what I want it to be. My dad was in business for himself a couple of times. Once very successfully until the recession in the early 80’s. He had originally started his own business when he was about my age.  I remember him telling me once “you’ll never make any real money in this world unless you’re in business for yourself.” So like a true American living in a free capitalistic country, it’s time I take some reins for myself.

Hello 2010. Hello Future.

  1. I’ve heard that fixed income is a guarantee for no inspiration.  I haven’t gotten to that point yet though…

Working for yourself though, definitely something I’d like to do some day.  May the force be with you.
