Last night the mobile opera browser became available for the iPhone. This is the fist alternative browser available for the iPhone. Seems a lot of people are really excited about it.

Being the geek that I am I downloaded it and messed around for a while. I like having a second choice but honestly Opera sucks. It doesn’t render pages anywhere near as nice as Safari does. The text is unreadable until you zoom in. Last but not least, the pinch to zoom is all jumpy.

I’m a little disappointed. I was hoping for a decent alternative. What I really want is safari with an optional text reflow choice like android has. Well, maybe a few more options.
