I think they are made by bored farmers. the nearest strip club bar is probably 12 hours away, so they have to keep themselves entertained somehow.

@musterion99 – I think any alien intelligence advanced enough to traverse such great distances wouldn’t be showing up to draw geometric pictures in our vegetation.
