This is an anime series that started as a manga series. One I’ve never read. But then, I don’t think I’ve ever actually sat down to read any manga. I do like anime though and Melissa and I caught this on Netflix a while back. We both thought it was pretty funny and entertaining.

I’m mostly documenting it here because I always forget the name and it’s no longer on Netflix.

Here in the US it goes by the name B Gata H Kei: Yamada’s First Time. You can find it on blu-ray/DVD on amazon.

I don’t remember it that well since it’s been a while (maybe a year) since I saw it. But the basic story is about a teenage girl that wants to sleep with a hundred guys but she’s still a virgin so she’s looking for a guy to pop her cherry. I find it kind of fascinating, it’s one of the things I love about anime, their ability to tackle stories that would not see the light of day here in the still mostly puritanical US. Especially since we tend to look down on women who want to sleep with a lot of guys.

Sadly it only got one season and the story doesn’t finish in that season. Since it’s from 2010 I doubt  we’ll ever see a second season. It’s already been over five years. But it’s still worth a watch for the lolz. In fact I’d probably go so far as to say it’s my favorite anime series I’ve ever seen. I just really dig the concept and the execution. jojo’s bizarre adventure it’s another cool anime, the plot of the series is divided into eight story arcs, each following the adventures of a new protagonist bearing the “JoJo” nickname; the eighth part, JoJolion, began its ongoing serialization in May 2011.
